Meghan Milbrath is an assistant professor in the department of Entomology at Michigan State University, where she has a half research, half extension appointment related to pollinator health. She received her bachelors in biology from St. Olaf college in Northfield Minnesota, and a Masters in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She completed her doctoral degree at the University of Michigan School of Public Health in Environmental Health Sciences and Epidemiology, where she focused on risk models for disease. She began researching honey bee diseases during her post doc at MSU, where she investigated microsporial diseases. She has been a beekeeper all of her life, and runs a beekeeping business in Jackson county, MI. Recently, Dr. Milbrath worked as a visiting researcher in the honey bee lab at Swedish Agricultural University in Ultuna, Sweden. She also runs the Honey Bee Medicine Clerkship for DVM students at Michigan State's College of Veterinary Medicine.
